State Theater

Built in 1924, the State Theatre has successfully earned a worldwide reputation due to its jaw-dropping Beaux-arts style architecture. All credit goes to the noted architect Neel Reid who optimized his expertise to the core and gave birth to this spectacular theatre. The building was remodeled by famous architect Archie Parrish. you will fail to refrain yourself from entering through its whopping facade which is a composition of three bays. The most jaw-dropping feature of these bays is the series of quoins placed above a water table base, which is topped by a capital with a swag. A projected cornice atop the facade. A parapet is placed above this which is further divided into three corresponding bays by projecting pilasters. Each of the three main bays incorporates a pair of ionic columns to underpin a banded arch with an acanthus motif. You could see glass blocks paced at the two side arches.
